On-Call Coordinator
Legacy Home Care, a growing, fast-paced home care agency serving the senior community in the metropolitan D.C. area is seeking an On Call Coordinator with a commitment to excellence.
The Legacy team shares a determination to provide outstanding personal care services to its clients in their homes. Generous compensation will be provided for an individual with the right balance of customer service and problem solving skills.
The On Call Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth handling of all new and existing cases after business hours. This position will provide week night coverage from 4:30pm to 8:00am the next business morning and weekend coverage from 4:30pm Friday through 8:00am Monday.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provides intake services to incoming callers with the potential to become new clients.
- Determines if service can be provided and makes a referral to a community resource if not.
- Staffs shifts on existing cases as needed.
- Runs specific reports to identify caregiver availability, skills and location.
- Discusses all procedures for scheduling caregivers, payment, and substitutions/replacements with the client.
- Contacts caregivers matched to case requirements to determine fit and availability.
- Provides pertinent case details to the caregiver.
- Responds to all caregiver cancellations by finding a substitution and informing the client of the substitution.
- Informs clients when caregivers will be late, and determines if a substitute caregiver should be obtained.
- Receives caregiver availability throughout the weekend for scheduling.
- Responds to complaints received from clients or caregivers, documents and investigates the situation to resolve complaint as appropriate.
- Documents all weekend activity and services for tracking, and updates office staff.
- Communicates and collaborates with Clinical Director and other staff members as needed.
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, and experience w/database software to enable accurate and expedient usage
- Thrives in a fast paced work environment with ability to successfully handle many tasks at one time.
- Strong customer service abilities to establish a rapport with Care Coordinators, Caregivers and clients to rectify problems while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to assess what situations have a sense of urgency and when to contact the Clinical Director or Operations Specialist for assistance.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, despite numerous interruptions and background noise.
- 3+ years experience in healthcare placement and/or staffing, or related experience.
- Associates Degree or higher preferred.
- Experience with servicing seniors a plus.
